Supported by the innovation of bioimaging and sequencing technologies, the integration of quantitative data and mathematical modelling has been increasingly popular in life science. Nonetheless, most of the successful collaborations so far have been limited to simple organisms. However, the biological principles that have been discovered can be extrapolated to higher organisms and more complicated phenomena such as adaptive immunity. In this presentation, I would like to outline our attempts to extend our approach of quantitative biology towards immunology. Specifically, I will show how we can combine bioinformatics and mathematical modelling to unveil the diversity and homeostasis of T cell population, which plays integral roles in adaptive immunity.
